How To Create a Modge Podge Picture Canvas

DIY Giant Modge Podge Canvas!

I had an old princess canvas painting laying around outside collecting dust so I decided to use it as my canvas but you can use pretty much anything you want.

Get some black spray paint and spray the entire surface with 2 coats until the original image doesn't come through the paint.

Next, print out your image with a regular printer (I recommend using picture paper for a glosser, cleaner look)

(I used my cricut design space to measure and slice each image big enough for print and cut)

Cut out each piece of the image and line them up on the canvas to make sure everything lines up right and fits good.

Paint on the modge podge and glue on each piece one by one insuring they are lined up right and use a squeegee or something similar to flatten out any air pockets and the edges.

The last step is to cover the entire image with modge podge and let each layer dry until you get the desired result.

Tips:

  • Spray clear spray paint over image and let dry before adding modge podge to the top so the ink doesn't mix with the glue and cause it to smear.
